Connecting QGIS to the Topolab OGC API
Step-by-step: add Topolab as an OGC API Features layer in QGIS 3.22+, authenticate with your API key, and pull live geometry into your project.
Requires: QGIS 3.22 or later, a Team / Enterprise plan (OGC / GIS access is a Team / Enterprise capability), and an API key with READ · COORDINATES + FEATURES scope.
1. Create an API key with the right scope
Open /portal/developer, click Create API key, and pick the QGIS-connector preset. The key will appear once, copy it before you close the dialog.

In QGIS, go to Layer → Add Layer → Add OGC API Features Layer…. Paste this URL in the "Service URL" field:
https://api.topolab.nl/v1/ogc
Click Authentication, choose Basic, leave the username empty and paste your API key into the password field. Hit Connect, your owned datasets appear as collections.
3. Drag a collection onto the canvas
Double-click any collection to add it as a live layer. By default the layer is bbox-aware, QGIS only fetches features in the current viewport, so panning around a large dataset stays snappy. Each request consumes 1 credit per 100 features returned; you can monitor usage in /portal/developer.
Tip · Save the connection as a profileOnce you've got it working, save the connection under Settings → Connections. You can share the profile XML with teammates so nobody else has to repeat steps 1–2.
